Liquid/Water Damage: What to Do Immediately

 

Do this right away!

If your phone/tablet got wet:

1. Turn it off immediately (don’t “see if it still works”)
2. Do not charge it
3. If possible, remove the case and gently dry the outside
4. Bring it in as soon as you can

What NOT to do

• Don’t use rice (it doesn’t remove moisture from inside the device)
• Don’t apply high heat (hair dryers/ovens can make damage worse)
• Don’t keep turning it on to test it—this is how small water exposure becomes major board damage

What we’ll do when you bring it in

We’ll inspect for liquid indicators/corrosion and recommend the best next step (cleanup, repair, or data recovery options depending on the situation).

Important note

Liquid damage is unpredictable. The sooner it’s handled, the better the odds.
