Battery Replacements: What to Expect

Last Update sebulan yang lalu
- Battery drains quickly (even with light use)
- Phone shuts off at 10–40% (or jumps around)
- Device gets unusually warm during normal use/charging
- Slow performance (some devices throttle when the battery is failing)
- Battery health warnings (when available)
- Swollen battery (screen lifting or back separating) — stop using it and bring it in ASAP
- Confirm the model and the correct battery type
- Replace the battery using proper tools and safe handling
- Reassemble the device carefully
- Perform basic post-repair checks (power, charging, and general function as testing access allows)
Many battery replacements can be completed same day, often within about an hour once we begin work (part availability and device condition can affect timing).
- Battery calibration: After replacement, the percentage reading may take a few charge cycles to “learn” the new battery.
- Water resistance: Any time a device is opened, manufacturer water resistance can be reduced. We reseal as appropriate, but no shop can restore factory water resistance perfectly.
- Pre-existing issues: If the device has prior damage, liquid exposure, or previous repair work, it can affect the repair process and outcome. If we find anything unusual, we’ll document it and let you know.
A battery replacement normally does not require a reset, but we still recommend a backup whenever possible.
If you’re comfortable providing your passcode, it can help us fully test after the repair (optional). If not, that’s okay—testing may be limited.
Battery replacements include warranty coverage for part/manufacturing defects for 1 year. It does not cover new physical damage, liquid damage, or issues unrelated to the battery.
If your battery is swollen (screen lifting, back separating, “pillow” look), don’t keep charging or using the device. Bring it in as soon as you can.
