Before You Come In: Quick Device Prep Checklist

Last Update sebulan yang lalu

This quick checklist helps your repair go faster and protects your data. Most steps take just a few minutes.

1) Back up your device (recommended)

If anything unexpected happens during troubleshooting, a backup protects your photos, contacts, and important info.

  • iPhone: back up to iCloud or a computer
  • Android: back up to Google, Samsung or other brand account(and/or Google Photos)
2) Bring the basics
  • Your device
  • Charging cable (if the issue is charging/power/battery-related)
  • Any parts/accessories involved (case, screen protector, etc. if they affect the problem)
  • If it’s a warranty/return visit: any receipt/order info you have (helpful, not required)
3) Turn off security locks that can block testing (optional, but helpful)

You can choose what you’re comfortable with:

  • If you’re okay sharing your passcode, it can help us fully test the repair.
  • If you prefer not to share it, that’s fine—testing may be limited and you may need to verify certain functions at pickup.
4) Disable “Find My” / anti-theft locks (only if needed)

Some services (especially replacements, trade-ins, or certain advanced troubleshooting steps) may require anti-theft features to be turned off.

  • iPhone (Find My iPhone): Settings → your name → Find My → Find My iPhone → OFF
  • Android (Google/Samsung anti-theft / FRP): We’ll guide you based on your phone model
If you’re not sure, don’t worry—bring it in and we’ll tell you what (if anything) needs to be changed.
5) Remove accessories that can interfere
  • Remove thick cases if they block ports or buttons
  • If you have a damaged screen protector, let us know (it can affect touch testing)
6) Know your Apple ID / Google login (if you might need a reset)

If your device needs a factory reset, you’ll need your login afterward to set it back up. If you don’t know it, we can still do the repair—but you may be locked out of the device until you recover the account.

7) If it’s liquid damage: power it off!!

If your device got wet:

  • Turn it off
  • Don’t charge it
  • Bring it in as soon as you can

    Want the fastest turnaround?

If you can, book an appointment—it helps us reserve time and prep parts when possible. Walk-ins are welcome too.
