Will I Lose My Data During a Repair?

The short answer

Most repairs do not affect your data. That said, any device repair carries some risk—especially if the device is already unstable, damaged, or has liquid exposure.

What we recommend (best practice)

Before any repair, we strongly recommend:

  • Back up your device (iCloud/Google/Computer backup)
  • Make sure you know your Apple ID / Google login
  • If possible, bring the device with at least 20–30% battery

Do we look at your personal data?

No. We don’t go through your photos, messages, or accounts. If testing requires access (like verifying cameras, speakers, etc.), we’ll explain your options.

Passcodes and testing
  • If you provide a passcode, we can do more complete testing.
  • If you don’t want to provide it, we can still do the repair, but testing may be limited—so we’ll set expectations up front.

If your device is already not powering on

For devices that won’t turn on or have severe damage, we’ll talk through the safest next step and what risks exist before we proceed.
