Upfront Payment Policy

Repairs + Special Orders

We require upfront payment in certain situations to keep repairs moving quickly and to make sure we can reserve parts and bench time for your device. We’ll always explain the total before you approve anything.

1) Upfront payment for “unknown issue” diagnostics (bench fees)

If the problem isn’t clear yet (example: “it won’t charge,” “it keeps restarting,” “no power,” “random issues”), we charge a bench fee to cover diagnosis time.

  • Phone bench fee: $35
  • Tablet / laptop / desktop / gaming system bench fee: $65
How it works:
  • The bench fee is paid upfront.
  • If you move forward with a repair, the bench fee is credited toward the final repair total.
  • If you choose not to proceed after diagnosis, the bench fee covers the time spent testing and troubleshooting.

    2) Upfront payment for repairs (especially when parts must be reserved)

Many repairs require us to reserve parts and schedule bench time. For that reason, we may require payment up front before we begin the repair—especially for:

    • Repairs that require special-order parts
    • Higher-cost parts (commonly parts over $100)
    • Time-intensive repairs where we need to block out bench time

We’ll confirm the exact total and timeline before taking payment.

        3) Special-order parts (non-refundable once ordered)

If we need to order a part specifically for your device:

        • Payment is typically required before ordering
        • Special-order parts are generally not refundable once ordered, because they’re tied to your specific device/model
If there are multiple part options (good/better/best), we’ll explain the differences so you can choose what fits your budget.

        4) Why we do this (plain language)

Upfront payments and bench fees help us:

        • Avoid spending long diagnostic time for free
        • Reserve parts so your repair isn’t delayed
        • Keep turnaround times fast and fair for everyone

          Questions before you approve?

No problem. If you’re unsure, ask—our goal is to make sure you understand the options and cost before we start.
